Photo CD 101
Kodak
Photo CDs offer an inexpensive alternative way to digitize
your 35mm negatives or slides. We offer 35mm dupe downs for
larger format film and copy work when film originals do not
exist.
Discs hold approximately
100 images scanned from 35mm negs and slides. Each scan
creates a Photo CD IMAGE PAC of
five separate resolutions. The Master Disc is used specifically
for 35mm (five levels) scans.
Kodak Photo CD files are
in the PCD (Photo CD) file format and require image
editing software that can
read this format. You may not be able access the information
correctly if you do not have one of these photo editing programs
or software similar to:

Adobe Photo Deluxe

Scans offer an 8x10 photographic quality output and multiple resolutions provide
ease of usage.
Consistent colors
Photo CD Master disc images are produced using Kodak scanning algorithms and
color management software, ensuring consistent, high-quality color.
Convenient storage
Each Photo CD Master disc provides long-term, low-cost storage of approximately
100 images; the Photo CD Portfolio II disc format can store more images at
lower resolution.
